Prof. Duu-jong Lee:
Before joining the City University of Hong Kong in 2022, Dr. Lee served as Chair Professor at National Taiwan University (NTU). He began his academic career at NTU in 1992 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and was promoted to Full Professor in 1996. In 2010, Dr. Lee was appointed Dean of the College of Engineering and subsequently became Vice President of the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in 2013. He currently holds the position of Chair Professor at CityU.
Dr. Lee's areas of expertise encompass bioenergy recovery from waste, membrane-based drinking water production, sludge treatment, and microscale heat and mass transport processes. He has led numerous industrial R&D projects funded by both industry partners and government agencies and has served as a consultant for wastewater treatment in Taiwan. Dr. Lee has held leadership roles as President of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers and the International Bioprocess Association. He is also actively involved in editorial work for prestigious journals, including Bioresource Technology and Bioresource Technology Reports. Additionally, Dr. Lee has been a visiting professor at various universities and research institutes. He has published 1,270 papers, which have garnered over 75,000 citations (h-index of 133, Google Scholar).
