Dr. Zhongfang Lei is currently working as a full professor in the Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Japan. She received her B.Eng., M.Eng. and D.Eng. from Tongji University, China. Her research focuses on organic solid waste conversion and wastewater treatment/reclamation, especially anaerobic digestion and bioregulation processes. She authored/co-authored about 300 peer-reviewed articles on wastewater treatment and resource/energy recovery and completed 10 domestic/international collaborative projects financially supported by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) in addition to more than 20 projects from local industries.
